General Lee wrote him 'I have just heard of your wounding ..Could I have dictated events I should have chosen for the good of the country, to have been disabled in your sted. .." Then in another report is the full printing of GO#11, ""With deep grief the commanding General announces to the army the death of Lieutenant-General T.J. Jackson ..."
