Scarcely found, a Civil War Check Book which belonged to Michael Doyle who mustered into "K" Co. NY 140th Infantry, 9/13/1862. On 3/16/1865 he transferred into Veteran Reserve Corps . The , "CHECK BOOK", 8pp., string bound, opens with 2 pages of "Regulations Concerning Money's Taken From Soldiers at Draft Rendezvous". The center spread shows Doyle issued Seventy-five dollars, Febr. 16, 1865 ... and second accounting shows Doyle forwarded Three hundred, Ninety-two to the paymaster.
