Caption, "Cleaver back in the Bay Area. Former Black Panther Party leader Eldridge Cleaver is directed into the Alameda County Court House in Oakland on Wednesday by Lt. Bob Donovan. Cleaver was returned to Oakland, the city he fled in 1968 to begin a seven-year odyssey in exile. He was brought to Oakland from San Diego, where he had been held in a federal facility since his return from overseas."
