Confederate soldier's Pocket Diary/Account book with strong signed identification on page 1, "Lieut. Thos. Martin, Co. F 10th Va Cavalry, 4th Brigade, February 10, 1863. Thomas Walker Martin enlisted on 4/17/1861 at North Garden, VA as a Private and mustered into "F" Co. VA 10th Cavalry. Martin was wounded 7/16/1863 Leetown, VA. and hospitalized 10/28/1863 Charlottesville, VA. He was Retired on 9/15/1864.
