Henry Edward Young (1831 - 1919), After attending schools in Germany, he was a lawyer in Charleston. He was appointed Captain and Assistant Adjutant General to General Drayton on 14 October 1861. He was relieved at his own request, and served as a volunteer aide-de-camp to General D. R. Jones at Second Manassas and Sharpsburg. He was on court-martial duty, and assigned as Captain and Assistant Adjutant General on General R. E. Lee's staff on 28 February 1863. He was promoted to Major on 20 September 1864. He served as Judge Advocate General, and was paroled at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.
