Clogged Photography Studio at Stafford Court House; Devastated Virginia Towns. War-date Union soldier's letter, 4pp. 8vo., written by Pvt. William A. Tooley, Co. K, 123rd New York Vols., "Camp near Stafford C. H., Va., Feb. 1, 1863," to his brother, Eber Tooley. On May 3, 1863, at the battle of Chancellorsville, Va., Tooley was captured, but soon paroled and then sadly, he was unfortunate enough to be killed during a skirmish at Aiken's Creek, Va., on April 10, 1865, the day the Army of Northern Virginia surrendered.
