A rather poignant Civil War soldier wife's letter concerned over the safety of her husband's life in battle while opining that the nation must, "atone for the curse that has been hanging so long over our lands." A very rich content letter, 2pp. 4to., written by Rosalie M. Hall, South Ridge, Ohio, July 31, 1864 giving her niece a raw, heartfelt view over her concern that her husband, Pvt. William R. Hall, Co. G, 2nd Ohio Heavy Artillery would survive the war enabling him to come home.
