Ohio 56th Infantry and was Killed in the siege on 5/1/1863 at Port Gibson, MS and is buried Vicksburg National Cemetery. DatelinedCamp Marraw, Feb. the 6th, 1862 to his brother. In part, “I do not know when I will come home. I want some of you to come down if you can and see me ...”Jeff Davis metamorphic shows a military Davis with text below “Jeff Davis Going to War.” When turned 90 degress, it shows a donkey’s head with texyt “Jeff. Davis Returning from War.”
