Union Soldier’s 4pp. letter written by John McGee with original patriotic cover mailed to his brother, Mr. Richard P. McGee, Muskingum County Ohio. Datelined: March 9, 1862, Camp Brownlow, Pikeville Kentukey. In part, “The rebels has been cutting some of their didies on some of the citizens about seven miles from hear. They shot one man in his own bed and took his son and hung him and took one prisoner and its supposed they hung him ... We have scouts out after them ...”
