Union officer’s 1pp letter written by George Munroe who mustered into "G" Co. Massachusetts 21st Infantry, on 7/19/1861. He was wounded on 9/17/1862 Antietam, MD. The brief letter is datelined Boston Mass, Febr. 3, 1863 written to Mrs. Cleaveland, in part “I send you this day twenty dollars your husband gave me the 4th day Jan last at Blains Cross Roads ... “ This husband is likely Fisher A. Cleaveland who was also wounded at Antietam.
