This sword lacks its scabbard yet is a strong example. The blade 29-1/2”, the hilt is 5-1/4” with an end cap an eagle looking over its right shoulder surrounded by thirteen stars. The grip is wrapped in white fish skin having thirteen turns of double twisted wire. On the guard “USN” in oak leaves. The blade retains 75% of the etching detail of eagle, anchor, shield, etc. Nice piece.
