Wentworth” (Benning Wentworth), Governor of the Province of New Hampshire, Portsmouth, NH, December 1, 1760, 8” x 6-1/2,” VG. The governor authorizes an ordained minister of the Province of New Hampshire to join in Holy Matrimony Richard Elllis and Ann Shepard, with the names and date filled in. There’s a .5” stain in the lower center portion, not affecting the signature.
