A colorful war-date, unengrossed, 1p. oblong 8vo., Philadelphia Fire Zouave document showing a flag bearing zouave who stands over the motto: "The Union Right or Wrong." Printed by King & Baird Co. Philadelphia this document was no doubt designed by Baxter (who was an artist and designer by trade) to help instill pride in the men who joined his regiment. Popularly known as Baxter's Fire Zouaves during the war, this regiment fought at Gettysburg and the Wilderness where Col. Baxter was shot through the lungs. Later Baxter gained the rank of brevet brigadier general. VG
