Philadelphia Derringer Pocket Pistol, c1863, Type Used to Assassinate President Abraham Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth at Ford's Theater, Very Fine. This Civil War Period Philadelphia Derringer Pocket Pistol has a 2.75", .40 caliber rifled barrel with Maker's mark on top of the breech, "DERINGER, PHILADELPHIA" as well as "P" on the left flat of breech. The back-action lock has decorative Engraving and is Maker marked: "DERINGER, PHILADELPHIA". The stock is solid with only some minor light scratches and dings from years of handling. Decorative Engraved original German Silver furniture is pleasing and attractive, adding to its choice eye appeal. As such, bidding may exceed our estimate range.
