c. 1870, Stereoview Photograph entitled, "Yosemite Valley, California - El Capitan," likely taken by California photographer Martin Mason Hazeltine, Extremely Fine. Mounted on its original yellow 7" x 3.5" Card mount. Possibly taken by California photographer Martin Mason Hazeltine (1827-1903) who moved from Vermont to California in 1853 where he began his career as a daguerreotypist. His images of Yosemite were purchased by a number of companies and published anonymously as is this one. Excellent sharpness and contrast to the scenic image, with an angler fishing in a stream holding a long fishing pole across from a beaver dam. A great early image.
