Albumen photograph, 7-1/4" x 5-3/4"., on larger mount, titled in the negative, "The Medicine Man taken at the Battle of Wounded Knee, SD, copyrighted by the Northwestern Photographic Co., Chadron, NE, January 1891", with the imprint of the same on the verso. The mount has rounded corners and a chip missing lower right. Trager was one of the first to photograph the Wounded Knee battlefield and its aftermath.
