Pamphlet, 16pp., disbound, tanned, 1856, VG. This curious but vehement attack, written on behalf of Northern Democrats, charges Fremont and the Republicans with establishing and legalizing slavery in Texas, Kansas, and New Mexico. An effective demonstration of the fact that Democrats had to oppose the extension of slavery to appeal for support in the North, while taking the opposite position in the South.
