Civil War Grouping for Charles King who enlisted on 10/1/1864 at Knoxville, TN as a Qtr Master Serg. and was mustered into "B" Co. US CT 1st Heavy Artillery.Handsome desktop wood box, 11"W x 8"D x 3-3/4"T, with gold lettering "C.W. Arty Assn." in the lid. The interior is lined with flag stars and fancy paper. The contents of this are as follows: Decorated Keepsake small wood box, 6"W x 3"D x 1-1/2" T, with pullout drawer. The top has hand art "1913, Knoxville Tenn with a flower branch. And on the back, "1st U.S. Colored Heavy ARTY, 10-1-1862 - 3-31-1866. Then a card in the draw IDs the group, "Sgt. Charles King, 1st Colored Heavy Arty, Co. B". ... plus, Civil War Reunion Badge, with Brass "GAR" pinback, 3" x 3/4" to which is attached a red white and blue tri-color silk ribbon, 2-3/4" x 5-1/2", upon which is printed ribbon, "1st U.S. Col. Arty. Hvy. Reunion." ... plus, Celluloid GAR pinback, with a sculpted brass badge to which a r/w/b ribbon hangs to dangle the 2" color celluloid heavy artillery disc. ... plus, Russian Shoulder Knot, bright red with required clip; ... plus, Maroon Artillery acorn hat cord, 11" ending in a tightly bound acorn. ... plus, Artillery friction primer, ... plus, Chain, 11" with 1" balls attached at either end.
